The Forbush Corner Nordic Ski School, led by long-time ski school director Carole Mueller-Brumbaugh, is a proud member of the Professional Ski Instructors of America (PSIA), the largest association of its kind. By choosing PSIA-certified instructors, skiers can either learn cross-country skiing from scratch or refine their skills with professionals who are dedicated to creating a fun, effective learning experience.
A PSIA-certified instructor doesn’t just know how to ski — they know how to teach it in a way that’s safe, engaging, and enjoyable. When you take a lesson from one of these professionals, you're learning from someone who has undergone rigorous training, not only to master the sport but also to effectively instruct others. At Forbush Corner we are pleased to have a number of PSIA instructors to work with skiers and their personal goals throughout the winter season
Remember, taking multiple lessons throughout the season is an excellent way to keep progressing and enhance your skills all winter long. For more information or to book a lesson, click the button below to reach out to the ski school.
Private lessons / Private group lessons are the standard type lesson offered at Forbush Corner Nordic. They give you, your family, your personal group of friends the opportunity to discuss with the instructor what ski related skills you want to work on.
Like the group lessons, they last approximately one hour, and can include skills ranging from fundamental skills to make down the trail to more advanced techniques that will allow you to traverse the trail systems with more efficiency.
It is great to take more than one of these lessons during the season, with the goal of continuous improvement over the entire winter.
Our Ski School Director, Carole, specializes in assisting individuals living with arthritis or those who have had a joint replacement. They may also be tailored to particular groups, such as women’s ski groups or Michigan Cup Racers. Instructors, with input from skiers, will schedule a variety of clinics throughout the season to meet these interests.
