We have been talking about expanding our snowmaking and adding mountain bike trails to our beloved property and now it is happening! We need to raise a total of $1,000,000. $600,000 is needed for the snowmaking expansion and $400,000 is needed for the bike trails. We are in the process of writing grants and asking for donations to attain our financial goal.
We have broken ground on the snowmaking expansion and expect to have it up and running by mid-November. We currently have a matching grant of $400,000 and $50,000 in raised funds so far for the project. We are still short of our goal to fully pay for the snowmaking. To donate, you can use the Support Forbush button below to connect to the PayPal giving fund link or mail us a check at PO Box 118, Gaylord, MI 49734.
The snowmaking expansion will create 3.2 to 3.5 km of snowmaking. We have reconfigured Ridge to create an inner loop inside of the existing loop and we have flattened Linda’s Link to make it a loop for a flat beginner trail. This loop will also facilitate many different variations with the outer and inner snowmaking loop to create a more enjoyable skiing experience when the snowmaking loop is the only option for skiing.
We have met with several trail builders, and they have all confirmed that we can easily fit 6 to 8 miles of flowy single track on our property. To begin the process, a commitment of $30,000 to the builder is needed to design the trails. Each mile of bike trail costs between $35,000 to $50,000 depending on soil composition, features and other factors. These forst 6-8 miles are only the beginning. We can also expand trails on our property and the DNR property west and north of us with the hope of creating a 20-mile plus system. If we get the funding, trail building can start in the spring.
The newly minted campaign brochure is attached to more fully explain our vision along with more ways to donate. We are accepting a single gift or multi-year pledge (pledge form is also attached below) If you have any questions, please contact us at 989-889-2843

Like Dave Forbush, many individuals share a deep passion for the outdoors and Nordic skiing. To honor the legacy of some of these remarkable individuals, the following memorial contributions have been made:
Memorial contributions like these serve a dual purpose: they honor the memory of loved ones while supporting meaningful causes. By directing funds toward Forbush Corner these gifts help sustain and grow programs that align with the passions and values of those being remembered.
Such memorials create a lasting legacy, enabling families, friends, and the community to contribute to something greater than themselves. They provide an opportunity to celebrate lives well-lived while making a tangible difference in preserving and enhancing outdoor spaces, fostering community, and promoting activities like Nordic skiing for generations to come.
